As part of its continued commitment to strengthening its relationship with the local community, Westchester Medical Center has hired veteran community liaison Rabbi Shlomie Friedman to serve in a full-time role at the hospital.
Rabbi Friedman, who previously served as a liaison at Westchester Medical Center years ago, is well remembered by community members for the tremendous assistance he provided to patients and families navigating hospital stays. His return was strongly endorsed and recommended by Bikur Cholim of Rockland County and Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland County.
Rabbi Friedman officially begins his new position on Tuesday full-time at Westchester Medical Center, serving as a direct resource for patients, families and community organizations while helping address concerns, coordinate needs and improve communication with hospital staff.
The move comes amid continued efforts by Westchester Medical Center to improve communication, build trust and strengthen its relationship with the Rockland County community.
Community leaders expressed their appreciation to Dr. David Lubarsky, President and CEO of WMCHealth, and his leadership team for recognizing the importance of having a dedicated community liaison and for taking concrete steps to make the appointment a reality.
