Chaverim volunteers were seen assisting a stranded motorist on Main Street in Monsey, pushing a vehicle that was stuck in the snow and helping it safely get back on the road.

HAVERSTRAW: Firefighters are on the scene at 12 Frederick Street for a plow truck fire. The Thiells Fire Department along with Haverstraw Police are on the scene.

MONSEY: A plow truck caught fire on Nissan Court. The Monsey Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the flames. The Ramapo Police Department and Chaverim of Rockland were also on scene.

A plow truck caught fire Sunday on Nissan Court in Monsey, prompting a quick and coordinated emergency response from local authorities.

The Monsey Fire Department was dispatched to the scene after reports of a truck fire. Upon arrival, firefighters quickly located the burning plow truck and brought the flames under control, extinguishing the fire before it could spread to nearby structures or vehicles.

The Ramapo Police Department also responded and assisted with traffic control and securing the scene while emergency operations were underway. Additionally, volunteers from Chaverim of Rockland were on scene to provide emergency support.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

PHOTOS & VIDEOS: Ramapo Police Chief Dany Hyman, along with Ramapo OEP Coordinator Joshua Hans, visited the Chaverim of Rockland Dispatch Headquarters earlier this afternoon, as volunteers continue working nonstop to assist residents during the storm. As of this afternoon, Chaverim had already handled more than 700 calls, with the total now surpassing 1,400 calls from Rockland County residents since early this morning.

Spring Valley Police went the extra mile this morning, using a loudspeaker throughout the village to alert residents to move vehicles parked on the roadway before towing enforcement began.
