Tree Down on Wires Cleared on East Stemmer Lane in Suffern

Emergency personnel responded to a tree down on utility wires on East Stemmer Lane. Ramapo Police and O&R responded to the scene. After O&R made the area safe, Chaverim of Rockland volunteers removed the tree and cleared the roadway.

Ramapo Police and Chaverim of Rockland are investigating a series of incidents in which occupants of a vehicle threw eggs at pedestrians throughout the Monsey and South Monsey areas.

Update: Montebello House Fire Brought Under Control; Firefighter Treated at Scene

The fire at 41 Bayard Lane in Montebello has been brought under control. Preliminary reports indicate the blaze may have started in a vehicle parked inside the home’s garage before spreading. Nearly a dozen fire departments responded to the scene. One firefighter was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The homeowner was also reportedly injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

MVA Reported on Ralph Boulevard in Monsey

Emergency personnel responded to an MVA on Ralph Boulevard. Hatzoloh EMS and Ramapo Police were at the scene. No injuries were reported.

Mystery Alarm Traced to Smoke Detector Floating in Suzanne Lake

Early this morning, Chaverim of Rockland responded to reports of an alarm sounding in the area of Warren Court. After searching the neighborhood for some time, volunteers traced the noise to a smoke detector floating in Suzanne Lake. The detector was removed, bringing the persistent alarm to an end. The Monsey Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Electrical Pole Making Loud Noises Sparks Response in Monsey

An electrical pole on Jeffrey Place was making loud noises, prompting a response from Chaverim of Rockland and the Monsey Fire Department. Orange & Rockland Utilities was requested to the scene to investigate and make the necessary repairs.

Taxi Driver Assaulted Customer During Fare Dispute In New Square

A dispute over a taxi fare reportedly turned violent on Ostereh Boulevard when a taxi driver punched a customer and knocked off his yarmulke. Ramapo Police responded to investigate the incident. Sources tell Monsey Scoop that community askonim became involved and discouraged the victim from pursuing charges. As a result, no arrest was made.

Missing Boys Located Safely Following Search in New Hempstead

Chaverim of Rockland and the Ramapo Police Department responded to a report of two missing boys from out of town who had been missing for several hours on Shabbos afternoon. B’chasdei Hashem, the boys were located safely shortly after the zman Motzei Shabbos.

SPRING VALLEY: MVA Reported At Paikin Drive And Laura Place

Emergency personnel responded to an MVA at the intersection of Paikin Drive and Laura Place. Hatzoloh EMS, and the Spring Valley Police responded to the scene, with only minor injuries reported. Following the crash, residents told Monsey Scoop they are once again urging the Village of Spring Valley to install a four-way stop sign at the intersection, saying the current two-way stop has been the scene of numerous accidents over the years.

MONSEY: Sparking Wires Prompt Emergency Response on Park Lane

Monsey Fire Department and Ramapo Police responded to reports of sparking wires on Park Lane. Orange & Rockland Utilities was requested to the scene.

Orange Sun Glows Through Canadian Wildfire Smoke in Rockland County

These two photos show the sun shining through the thick haze over Rockland County on Thursday as smoke from the Canadian wildfires drifted across the region. The dense layer of smoke filtered the sunlight, creating an unusual orange glow while reducing visibility and impacting air quality throughout the area.

NYS THRUWAY: Injuries Reported Following Crash Between Exits 13 and 12

Emergency personnel were at the scene of an MVA that occurred on the NYS Thruway between exits 13 and 12. Injuries were reported.

REACT/SWAT Team Clears Spring Valley Scene; Police Presence Remains

The Rockland County REACT/SWAT Team has cleared the scene and departed the Gesner Apartments. Spring Valley Police officers and Rockland County Sheriff’s deputies remain in the area as the investigation continues. Monsey Scoop will provide further updates as they become available.

REACT/SWAT Team Responding To Active Standoff At Gesner Apartments In Spring Valley

The Rockland County REACT/SWAT Team arrived on the scene at the Gesner Apartments. Tactical officers are using a loudspeaker to announce that they have an arrest warrant and are ordering the individual inside to exit the apartment. The incident remains active.
