Spring Hill EMS has announced the appointment of its newest crew chief, Isaac Zidell, marking another milestone for the local volunteer emergency medical services agency.
Zidell, who has long aspired to become an EMT and help people in critical moments, said he was drawn to Spring Hill for its strong reputation in training and hands-on experience. He described the organization as “an amazing place” that truly feels like a family, something he says stood out immediately when choosing where to serve.
Outside of his EMS duties, Zidell has been working in a nursing home for the past three years, where he has gained valuable experience in patient care and developed a strong sense of responsibility—skills that translate directly into his role in emergency services.
Zidile is the son of Raanan Zidell, a veteran Hatzoloh paramedic currently serving year-round in Catskills Hatzolah and in Rockland County. Prior to moving upstate, he served as a longtime paramedic in Flatbush Hatzoloh, and also serves as a trustee in the Village of Pomona, reflecting a strong family commitment to public service and community care.
In addition to his role at Spring Hill, Isaac also volunteers with East Side Hatzoloh, where he serves as ES-158, further expanding his involvement in emergency medical response.
Known for his outgoing personality, Zidell is often credited with bringing positivity and comfort to those around him. Members of Spring Hill expressed appreciation for his dedication and commitment, noting that both the organization and the patients he serves are fortunate to have him on the team.
