When a Teaneck NJ police officer learned his father was being discharged from the hospital and would require a hospital bed at home, he turned to Bergen County Chaverim for help and the community’s remarkable network of chesed immediately sprang into action.
Isaac Lieder from Vital One coordinated with Hatzalah transportation from Delaware to the New Jersey border, where the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps seamlessly took over, bringing the patient safely to his son’s home.
At the same time, Chesed 24/7 of New Square arranged for a hospital bed to be delivered and set up in advance, ensuring the home was fully prepared for the patient’s arrival. When the bed was no longer needed, Chesed 24/7 promptly returned to retrieve it.
This joint effort by multiple volunteer organizations exemplifies true unity and compassion a powerful kiddush Hashem and a shining example of how the spirit of chesed continues to define and uplift our community.
