A coordinated overnight search involving multiple agencies led to the safe recovery of an elderly resident who went missing from a Nursing Home in Monsey late Wednesday night.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that an elderly African American woman, who suffers from dementia, was last seen at approximately 10:45PM. Staff discovered her missing about two hours later and immediately contacted the Ramapo Police Department, which responded and launched a search operation.
Chaverim of Rockland was called in to assist, deploying multiple volunteers to canvass the surrounding area. Orangetown Police Department also provided mutual aid, checking nearby locations amid concerns the woman may have traveled into their jurisdiction to a family member.
At approximately 1:45AM, a Chaverim of Rockland volunteer successfully located the missing woman on North Main Street in Spring Valley. Spring Hill EMS responded to the scene and transported her to Nyack Hospital for evaluation.

A real Kiddush Hashem—beautiful to see everyone come together so quickly to help. 🙏
