JUST IN: Long Wanted Shabbos Car Break-In Criminals Arrested in Ramapo Police Investigation

On Monday, October 30, 2023, the Ramapo Police Investigations Division began an investigation into the larcenies from several motor vehicles, all taking place in the Village of Chestnut Ridge as Monsey Scoop reported. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that two suspects stole from unlocked motor vehicles, before using the stolen property (credit/debit cards) at local businesses throughout Spring Valley and Hillcrest. There was a total of 12 cases involving the suspects.

On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, Ramapo detectives arrested a 31-year-old male from Spring Valley. Previously, on November 3, 2023, detectives arrested the co-conspirator, a 25-year-old female from Hillcrest. Both parties were charged with Identity Theft in the 3rd degree (4 counts), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree (4 counts), Conspiracy 5th degree (12 counts), Petit Larceny (1 count) and Attempted Petit Larceny (5 counts). The female defendant was also charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree.

Both defendants were released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Ramapo Justice Court, Village of Chestnut Ridge Justice Court and the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court.
