David Breuer won Tuesday night’s Tallman Fire District election, securing his first elected term as Fire Commissioner after being appointed roughly seven weeks ago to temporarily fill the vacant seat.
The election, held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Tallman Fire District headquarters, drew a steady turnout of residents and volunteers who came to determine the district’s long-term leadership.
Breuer’s victory solidifies the role he has held in an interim capacity, allowing him to continue shaping district priorities, equipment needs, and administrative oversight. During his brief appointment, Breuer worked to familiarize himself with ongoing initiatives and department operations.
Challenger Moshe Engel, who campaigned on expanding community engagement and enhancing volunteer support, congratulated Breuer and thanked Tallman residents for participating in the election.
Breuer will begin his elected term on January 1 as the district prepares for the coming year’s operational and budgetary planning.

Please have Moshe collect the campaign signs which are everywhere.
Who are you anyway?
all tallman residents demand that he gets mutual aid with monsey!!!!!!!!!!
When was the last time 7 used Tallman for mutual aid?
Recently there was a few structure fires in district 7 close to Tallman Instead of getting mutual aid from the closest that’s Tallman there station is 3 minutes from the fire 7 dispatched Spring Valley That is over 10 minutes from the fire and hillcrest what is 10-15 minutes from the fire so don’t tell me all Tallman residents demand that they get Mutual aid with Monsey it’s the opposite Monsey residents demand that 7 gets the Closest mutual aid not the farthest.
Are you asking that a department that rolls over there own calls to different departments, should be used as mutual aid🤣
Right…
Because 17 covers all there calls…….
