Joe Rand Wins Working Families Party Primary, Advances to Face Bill Weber

Nyack Mayor Joe Rand has won the Working Families Party primary for New York’s 38th State Senate District, securing the party’s ballot line for the November general election.

Rand was the only candidate listed on the ballot aside from write-in candidates and successfully earned the nomination.

He will now advance to a November showdown against incumbent State Senator Bill Weber, who is seeking another term representing the 38th Senate District.

The race is expected to draw significant attention throughout Rockland County as Democrats and Republicans battle for one of the region’s most important legislative seats.
