Islamic Center of Rockland County Condemns Anti-Semitic Remarks Made by Guest Imam

In response to a recent sermon reported by Monsey Scoop and commented on by local elected officials, the Islamic Center of Rockland County has issued a public statement condemning remarks made by a guest imam during a sermon on August 9. The sermon, which included a prayer for the destruction of Zionist Jews, has been drawing widespread criticism.

The Islamic Center of Rockland County wrote, “We unequivocally condemn these statements.” The center emphasized that it stands firmly against anti-Semitism and any rhetoric that incites violence or hatred. “Our faith teaches us the values of peace, compassion, and justice. We remain committed to fostering a community built on these principles, where dialogue and understanding can pave the way toward a better future for all.”

In their statement, the center also extended an apology for the harm caused by the remarks and assured the community that they will take steps to prevent such harmful messages from being shared in the future.
