Intense Hour-Long Police Pursuit Around Rockland County Ends with Arrest Near Route 202 and Grandview Avenue

A police chase that spanned nearly an hour came to a halt near Route 202 and Grandview Avenue, resulting in the apprehension of one suspect. The incident began when the suspect reportedly committed theft at the Home Depot store in Clarkstown, A police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop at 2:53 PM, but the driver chose to flee, sparking a chase that spanned the Palisades Parkway, NYS Thruway and several main roads.

During the chase, a police vehicle collided on the Palisades Parkway, intensifying the urgency of the situation. The suspect eventually exited the parkway at Exit 11, continuing at a speed of 20 MPH before being apprehended near Route 202 and Grandview Avenue.

The coordinated efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including NY State Police, Ramapo Police, Clarkstown Police, Rockland County Sheriff, and Haverstraw Police, were instrumental in bringing the pursuit to a safe conclusion. The suspect is now in custody, and authorities have secured the area.
