Injured Hiker Rescued at Gurnee Park in Mount Ivy After Six Hours in the Woods

A 64-year-old male hiker sustained a head injury after falling 15 feet off a trail in Gurnee Park, Mount Ivy. The incident occurred approximately 450 feet into the Andreanna Park Road trail.

Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the hiker fell around 1 PM on Wednesday but was only able to call for emergency personnel close to 7 PM. Despite the delay, the hiker’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening. He was promptly transported to Westchester Medical Center by Spring Hill EMS and Rockland Paramedics for further treatment.

Responding to the scene were the Hillcrest Fire Department, Spring Hill EMS, Rockland Paramedics, and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department, who all worked together to ensure the hiker’s safe transport and medical care.
