Indian Point Siren Notification System Deactivated as Rockland County Officials Prepare for Plant Decommissioning

Rockland County officials have deactivated The Indian Point Siren Notification System as part of the ongoing decommissioning of the Indian Point Energy Center.

The sirens and poles will be removed in the coming months. With the plant’s decommissioning underway, the threat of offsite consequences has been eliminated.

Rockland County will continue to monitor the process and respond as needed to ensure the community’s safety.
