Increased Vehicle Break-Ins Concern Monsey Residents; Calls for Enhanced Police Patrol

For the third consecutive week, the Old Nyack Turnpike region of Monsey witnessed the break-in of 43 vehicles, causing mounting alarm among its inhabitants. The series of incidents transpired early Shabbos morning, persisting until the Chaverim Shabbos patrol intervened. Upon the Chaverim’s Shabbos patrol’s approach, the culprits made a hasty exit from the scene, evading authorities before the arrival of the police.

Local community members are expressing growing anxiety over the situation. As these crimes continue to disrupt their sense of safety and security, many residents are urging the Ramapo Police to bolster their presence, particularly on Friday nights, to deter potential offenders and protect the community from further victimization.

If anyone witnessed the crimes or have any surveillance footage, please contact the Ramapo Police at 845-357-2400 and Chaverim of Rockland at 845-371-6333.
