Nearly 300 melamdim from Skver mosdos across the greater New York area gathered last Monday for a special day of chizuk, inspiration, and professional development during the “Mesharsei Elyon” conference held at the Armon Hotel in Connecticut.
The event brought together rebbeim and educators dedicated to chinuch for a full program focused on strengthening their mission of educating the next generation according to the traditions and values passed down through previous generations.
Beginning in the afternoon hours, the melamdim arrived at the hotel where an extensive program of shiurim, lectures, panel discussions, and workshops had been prepared. The gathering featured well-known rabbanim and speakers who delivered inspiration and practical guidance for those involved in chinuch.
Among the featured speakers was Harav Reb Yitzchok Twersky Shlita, who attended on behalf of his father, the Skver Rebbe. The melamdim warmly welcomed Reb Yitzchok, who conveyed special brachos and words of encouragement from the Rebbe for all those dedicated to educating talmidim.
Following Mincha, a special gathering took place led by Reb Yitzchok Shlita, featuring nigunei hisorerus and heartfelt remarks emphasizing the tremendous responsibility and privilege carried by melamdim in shaping future generations.
The menahel klali of Skver mosdos, Harav Reb Yitzchok Yosef Ungar Shlita, also addressed the gathering and thanked Reb Yitzchok Shlita for participating and for his ongoing dedication and assistance on behalf of the mosdos.
Later in the evening, the approximately 300 melamdim divided into 13 smaller discussion groups organized by age levels and educational focus. Over the course of nearly two hours, participants exchanged ideas, advice, and practical approaches in chinuch while learning from one another’s experiences.
During the sessions, Reb Yitzchok Shlita visited each group individually, speaking with participants and answering questions related to challenges commonly faced by mechanchim.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., an elegant seudah was held for all attendees. During the dinner, participants heard a keynote address from renowned mechanech and speaker Harav Reb Pinchos Breier Shlita of Eretz Yisroel, followed by an extensive panel discussion featuring veteran melamdim from multiple grade levels.
The program continued late into the night, concluding around midnight with bentching, as the hundreds of melamdim returned home strengthened and inspired to continue their avodas hakodesh with renewed energy and dedication.
The event was coordinated by Shea Melamed.
