HILLCREST: Ramapo Police First on Scene, Safely Rescue Children From Smoke-Filled Home on Stella Drive

A reported structure fire with children initially trapped prompted a swift multi-agency response Wednesday evening on Stella Drive in Hillcrest.

Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the call came in at approximately 5:13 p.m., with Ramapo Police officers arriving first on scene. Officers quickly entered the home and safely assisted all occupants out of the residence. The incident was later determined to be a small kitchen fire that generated heavy smoke throughout the house.

Hillcrest Fire Department and New City Fire Department responded to the scene, along with Spring Hill EMS. Emergency medical personnel evaluated three emergency responders and two children for smoke inhalation. No serious injuries were reported.
