Hillcrest Man Arrested and Charged with Multiple Offenses Following Domestic Incident

Ramapo Police Department officers apprehended a 24-year-old man from Hillcrest yesterday in connection with a domestic incident that occurred on September 13, 2023. The suspect had previously fled the scene before law enforcement arrived but was taken into custody on Sunday.

The individual, whose identity has not been disclosed to the public at this time, now faces a series of serious charges related to the incident. He has been charged with Strangulation in the 2nd degree, a felony; Assault in the 3rd degree, a misdemeanor; Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, another misdemeanor; as well as Endangering the Welfare of a Child, also categorized as a misdemeanor. Additionally, the suspect faces a charge of Harassment in the 2nd degree, classified as a violation.

Following his arrest, the accused was promptly arraigned in the Village of Airmont Justice Court. Surprisingly, he was released without the imposition of bail. However, an order of protection has been issued to safeguard the well-being of the involved parties. The defendant has been advised to appear in Ramapo Town Court on September 26 at 1:00 pm, where he will address the charges brought against him.
