Earlier this month, 10 dedicated members of Hillcrest Fire Department took part in a specialized water rescue training session led by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. The training is part of the department’s ongoing mission to establish the Ramapo Swift Water Rescue Team.
Held over the course of a weekend, the hands-on training took place on various local waterways and focused on vital rescue techniques to ensure members are fully prepared for swift water emergencies. Firefighters from Spring Valley and Sloatsburg—also part of the Ramapo rescue team—joined in this crucial effort.
Hillcrest Fire Department remains steadfast in its commitment to readiness and public safety, continuing to train for any emergency that may arise.
