The Hillcrest Fire Department hosted a live fire training exercise on Sunday, bringing together firefighters from the Monsey Fire Department, Spring Valley Fire Department, and West Nyack Fire Department for a day of hands-on instruction in realistic fireground conditions.
The training, conducted in acquired structures under controlled live fire conditions, provided participants with invaluable experience that closely simulates actual emergency incidents. Firefighters sharpened their firefighting techniques, strengthened communication and teamwork, and built confidence while operating in challenging environments.
Live fire training in acquired structures is considered one of the most effective ways for firefighters to prepare for real-world emergencies, allowing them to develop and refine critical skills in a safe, controlled setting.
