Hillcrest Fire Company Clarifies: No, Our Firefighters Are Not Drinking or Distributing Beer on Calls

The Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1 would like to address a common misconception seen during fire calls: no, our firefighters are not drinking beer, and no, we are not distributing free beer to keep our mutual aid companies hydrated.

What they are actually consuming is one of the 2,352 cans (equivalent to 98 cases) of drinking water generously canned and donated by Anheuser-Busch. This initiative is part of the Emergency Drinking Water for Wildland Firefighters program, which Anheuser-Busch launched in partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) in 2019. Every year, Anheuser-Busch temporarily halts beer production to can clean drinking water specifically for firefighters.

This year, Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1 was fortunate to be selected as a recipient of this life-saving donation after submitting an application.

They extended their sincere gratitude to Anheuser-Busch and the NVFC for their continued support of this incredible program. Additionally, they thanked Dana Distributors, Inc. for their role in facilitating this unique delivery.

Cheers to everyone, and remember to stay hydrated!
