High Winds Cause Havoc in Monsey, Over 600 Residents Without Power {PHOTOS & VIDEOS}

Today’s heavy winds caused significant disruption in Monsey, taking down a tree and two electrical poles, affecting over 600 Orange and Rockland customers. The damage occurred on Wendover Lane and Highview Road, and on Highview Road near Spook Rock Road, prompting responses from the Tallman Fire Department, Ramapo Police, and utility crews.

Power is expected to be restored by approximately 5 p.m. Heavy traffic has been reported, and residents are advised to avoid the area if possible. Orange and Rockland Utilities are working to address the outage, and residents are urged to stay away from downed power lines and report any hazards to authorities.
