Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the Rockland County Planning Department are inviting residents to participate in the second round of public workshops for Envision Rockland — the County’s Comprehensive Plan update that will guide Rockland’s long-term growth and development.
The Comprehensive Plan serves as the County’s roadmap for how land is used, where development occurs, and how to balance growth with environmental protection. It influences decisions related to housing, infrastructure, transportation, economic development, and overall quality of life.
Each upcoming workshop will begin with a short presentation outlining key data, preliminary goals, and strategies, followed by an interactive open house where participants can provide direct input on the County’s future. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
-
Learn how the updated plan will shape Rockland’s direction for years to come.
-
Share feedback on the draft Vision Statement and Planning Goals.
-
Comment on initial strategies addressing priority issues such as housing, transportation, and sustainability.
