Heated Debate Over Proposed Subdivision at Ramapo Planning Board Meeting as Dozens of Residents from Olympia Lane and Wallenberg Circle Speak Out

The Town of Ramapo Planning Board meeting on Tuesday evening was marked by significant public engagement, as dozens of residents from Olympia Lane and Wallenberg Circle voiced strong opposition to a proposed subdivision project.

The application, seeking approval for the development of eight new lots, was submitted under the name Ramapo Living Estates and pertains to the property located at 37 College Road in Monsey.

By the end of the night, the application was not approved. The Planning Board advised the applicants to go to the CDRC committee and come back with a plan for lower density, smaller houses with bigger lots, and to consider not making the private street leading to Raoul Court, which leads into Wallenberg Circle.

Neighbors told Monsey Scoop that the owner and lawyer of the property were offered $5 million by a Florida developer if they secure the approval for the proposed property sale.

The meeting highlighted the community’s concerns and the contentious nature of the proposed development, for all plans and documentation, click here.
