Heat Advisory and Severe Thunderstorm Threats Persist in Rockland County and Surrounding Areas

Residents are urged to prepare for sustained hot and humid conditions this Friday, especially in Rockland and Westchester Counties. The National Weather Service has extended heat advisories, with max heat indices forecasted in the mid to upper 90s.

Additionally, a slow-moving cold front poses a risk of severe thunderstorms both this evening and on Friday afternoon. Strong winds, and even large hail, could accompany these storms.

Friday’s thunderstorms might extend into NYC and southwest Connecticut. While the current Heat Advisory remains until 8 pm today, it will be re-implemented on Friday for Rockland, Westchester, the NYC metro, and northeast NJ.

Residents should monitor local forecasts and take precautions.
