On Monday, July 1, 2024, Haverstraw Police responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of Fairmount Avenue and West Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a parked car opposite 9 Fairmount Avenue. Nearby, the driver was found on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
The victim, identified as 29-year-old Christian Alvarado of Pomona, NY, was transported to Nyack Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
