The Haverstraw Police Department has announced the addition of two new School Resource Officers (SROs), Police Officer Danny DeLaCruz and Police Officer Gavin Maher, to enhance safety and support within local schools.
Both officers are proud alumni of North Rockland High School. Officer DeLaCruz distinguished himself as a four-year basketball player during his high school years, while Officer Maher earned All-State honors as the captain of the Varsity Football team.
Officer DeLaCruz will serve Haverstraw Elementary, West Haverstraw Elementary, and the Neary Educational Center. Officer Maher will be assigned to Thiells Elementary and Willow Grove Elementary, providing a reassuring presence and fostering strong relationships within the school communities.
