Haverstraw Police Arrest Local Man in Connection with Burglary Investigation

The Haverstraw Police Department has announced the arrest of Roger Jefferson, 57, of Haverstraw, in connection with a burglary investigation stemming from an incident earlier this year.

In April 2024, police responded to a reported burglary at a business located in the Village of Haverstraw. Following months of investigation, new evidence recently came to light, identifying Jefferson as the prime suspect in the case.

Jefferson was apprehended last evening in Spring Valley, NY, with assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Clarkstown Police Department, and the Spring Valley Police Department. He was transported to the Haverstraw Police Department, where he was charged with burglary in the third degree, a class D felony, and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

The suspect was arraigned in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.

Authorities emphasized that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Haverstraw Police Department expressed gratitude to the partnering agencies for their cooperation in bringing this investigation to a resolution.
