Haverstraw Police Arrest Garnerville Man on Weapons and Drug Charges

The Haverstraw Police Department has announced the arrest of Kevin Reyes, 24, of Garnerville, NY.

On Monday night, at approximately 11:20 p.m., police officers observed Reyes in the Village of Haverstraw. Reyes was known to have an active bench warrant for his arrest. Upon taking him into custody, officers discovered that he was in possession of a loaded firearm and a controlled substance.

Reyes has been charged with the following:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree: Possession of a loaded firearm (Class C Felony).
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).
  • Bench Warrant for Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).

Following his arraignment in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court, Reyes was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility with bail set at $80,000 cash, $150,000 bond, or $150,000 partially secured bond.
