HAVERSTRAW: New Traffic Pattern on Hammond Road/Suffern Lane/Letchworth Village Road as Roundabout Partially Opens

The long-anticipated roundabout at the intersection of Hammond Road, Suffern Lane, and Letchworth Village Road is set to partially open tomorrow afternoon, introducing a temporary traffic pattern to accommodate ongoing construction and adjustments.

Temporary Traffic Changes:

  • Thiells Mt Ivy Road Traffic: All vehicles will turn right onto Suffern Lane and enter the roundabout, including those heading westbound on Letchworth Village Road toward Ridge Road.
  • No Left Turns: Left turns onto Thiells Mt Ivy Road from Suffern Lane will be prohibited. Vehicles will continue westbound toward Ridge Road, then proceed to Thiells Mt Ivy Road via Ridge Road.
  • Right Turns Permitted: Right turns onto Thiells Mt Ivy Road from Letchworth Village Road will be allowed as usual.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution, follow posted signs, and plan for minor delays as the new traffic pattern goes into effect. Authorities remind drivers that these measures are temporary and part of the broader plan to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.

Stay tuned for updates as the roundabout project progresses.
