Haverstraw Man Arrested on Federal Weapons and Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

The Haverstraw Police Department has announced the arrest of 27-year-old Sharrahn Walton, a resident of Haverstraw, New York, on multiple weapons and drug-related charges.

On the evening of October 17, 2024, Haverstraw Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Mr. Walton. During the course of the investigation, Walton was charged with several serious federal offenses, including Possession With Intent to Distribute Narcotics, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime, and Possession of a Firearm After a Felony Conviction.

Following his arrest, Walton was remanded without bail and is currently being held in federal custody.

The Haverstraw Police Department extended their thanks to the FBI Westchester Safe Streets Task Force for their assistance in the case, underscoring the importance of collaboration between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to maintain community safety.
