HAVERSTRAW: Firefighters Battled Union Street Structure Fire In Frigid Conditions

Firefighters battled frigid conditions Saturday afternoon as crews responded to a confirmed structure fire at 9 Union Street in Haverstraw.

At approximately 12:00 p.m., firefighters from the Haverstraw Fire Department, West Haverstraw Fire Department, and Stony Point Fire Department were dispatched following reports of a fire inside the structure. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed an active fire and began an aggressive attack.

The blaze was brought under control after approximately 30 minutes. Haverstraw Police Department secured the scene and assisted with traffic and crowd control, while Haverstraw EMS stood by to provide medical support as needed.

 No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
