Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland County has officially welcomed 15 new members to its volunteer ranks, marking another important step in the organization’s continued growth and commitment to emergency medical response across the region.
The new members were added across several districts based on operational needs and community growth. The additions include 7 new members in the Central District, 6 in the Airmont District, and 2 in the North District, bringing the total number of new volunteers to 15.
According to the organization, the new recruits were selected as part of Hatzoloh’s ongoing effort to meet the expanding needs of the communities it serves. As call volume continues to grow and neighborhoods continue to expand, additional trained volunteers are essential to maintaining fast response times and ensuring that emergency care is available when every second counts.
The onboarding of these new members also reflects Hatzoloh’s willingness to go above and beyond for the community. Equipping, training, and preparing 15 new responders comes at a cost of over $100,000, a significant investment made to strengthen emergency coverage and ensure that volunteers have the tools, gear, and resources needed to respond safely and effectively.
Hatzoloh officials noted that onboarding new members is not simply a matter of adding names to a roster, but part of a broader commitment to readiness, training, and community service. Each new volunteer represents another responder prepared to leave home, work, or family at a moment’s notice to assist someone in need.
The expansion also reflects the trust placed in Hatzoloh by the community and the organization’s ongoing responsibility to provide dependable emergency medical care throughout Rockland County. With these new members joining the ranks, Hatzoloh is better positioned to continue its lifesaving mission and respond to emergencies with the speed, professionalism, and dedication for which it is known.

Regardless of what cars they drive, or what is going on behind closed doors, fact is when YOU need them, they show up in mere seconds, and that’s what’s count, picture yourself in their shoes, regardless of timing day or night and countless hours of giving away of themselves, for…others.

Hatzolah is a wonderful organization, and the lifesaving work they do for the community is truly appreciated. At the same time, I do think one thing can be improved: they should make it easier for more qualified and dedicated people to join. There are many sincere people who would love to help save lives and serve the community, but it often feels very difficult to become part of the organization unless you are “connected” or considered VIP. An organization that does so much good should also be open to bringing in more willing volunteers who are capable, responsible, and ready to help.
