Monday night witnessed a serious accident on Route 6, stretching between Monsey and Monroe, which remarkably turned into a display of unity and collaborative effort between Hatzolah, Chaverim of Rockland and the Woodbury Police Department.
The incident unfolded around 12:30 AM when Hatzolah received an emergency call about a severe crash. The details were alarming: a vehicle had overturned, vaulting over a guardrail and plunging into a ditch.
Kiryas Yoel and Rockland Hatzolah members arriving at the scene treated the severely injured driver. Kiryas Yoel Hatzolah paramedics then transported the victim to Westchester Medical Center for further medical care.
As the night progressed, the focus shifted to the challenging task of retrieving the vehicle from its entangled position in the ditch. This phase of the operation highlighted an exceptional level of cooperation between the Woodbury police officers and Chaverim of Rockland.
Witnesses at the scene tell Monsey Scoop that Woodbury police, including a sergeant who was specifically present to oversee the collaboration, displayed extraordinary kindness and assistance. Their efforts were not just limited to managing the scene but extended to helping Chaverim members salvage personal belongings from the damaged vehicle. Notably, they assisted in recovering religious items, demonstrating respect and sensitivity to the cultural and religious importance of these objects.
