An injured hiker was rescued Sunday afternoon following a nearly two-hour operation in Harriman State Park.
New York State Forest Rangers, New York State Park Police, Haverstraw EMS, and members of the Hillburn and Thiells Fire Departments responded to the remote location after receiving reports of an injured hiker on a trail within the park.
Rescuers worked for nearly two hours to reach, stabilize, and safely remove the individual from the area. The hiker sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
