Habitat for Humanity of Rockland, in partnership with the Rockland County Office of Community Development, held a groundbreaking ceremony this week for a new home being built in the Village of West Haverstraw. The project marks another significant step in expanding affordable housing opportunities for local families.
County Executive Ed Day joined village officials, community leaders, and partner organizations at the event, highlighting the county’s ongoing commitment to addressing housing needs across Rockland.
“This groundbreaking represents progress, partnership, and hope for families seeking stability here in Rockland County,” Day said, noting that the collaboration with Habitat for Humanity continues to provide meaningful pathways to homeownership for local residents.
Construction is now underway, with the completed home set to become part of Habitat’s long-standing mission to strengthen communities through safe, affordable housing.
