In response to a severe financial crisis impacting Gur’s Torah institutions in Eretz Yisroel, the Gur Rebbe has launched an emergency campaign to secure vital funding. The crisis, brought on by significant cuts in government support, has threatened the stability of the vast Gur educational network, prompting immediate and large-scale fundraising efforts.
As part of this initiative, the Rebbe has extended his stay in the United States and will spend this coming Shabbos in Rockland County, hosted at the Pomona home of longtime gur supporter and philanthropist Reb Meir Frei. This special Shabbos is expected to draw major donors and community leaders from across the globe, many of whom have pledged upwards of $250,000 to help sustain the institutions and support the Rebbe’s mission. The gathering marks a critical moment in the ongoing effort to preserve and strengthen Gur’s Torah infrastructure in Israel.
