On Sunday morning, September 21, 2025, at approximately 11:49 AM, Spring Valley Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Union Road and West Eckerson Road for a traffic violation.
During the investigation, officers discovered a loaded firearm inside the vehicle, which was occupied by four male individuals.
The following suspects were arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony:

Edwin Thezan, 36, of Spring Valley

Doodly Metellus, 20, of Spring Valley

Smay Dornaison, 19, of Spring Valley

A 17-year-old juvenile from Spring Valley (name withheld due to age)
Police said Thezan, Metellus, and Dornaison were arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court before Judge Sweet and remanded to the Rockland County Jail. The 17-year-old was arraigned in Rockland County Youth Superior Court and placed in a secure juvenile facility.
Authorities emphasized that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
