Good Samaritan Hospital Partners with New Square Hatzoloh on ER Rotations to Expand Female EMT Training Program

New Square Hatzoloh is expanding its ongoing initiative to train additional women as EMTs, enhancing its ability to respond to sensitive emergency situations involving female patients, such as childbirth and labor-related calls.

The program, which has already produced several trained EMTs, is now welcoming a new group of 18 women to meet growing community needs. These trainees are undergoing NYS EMT certification and hands-on clinical rotations at Good Samaritan Hospital, part of the Bon Secours Charity Health System.

Marie Yezzo, Senior Vice President of WMCHealth and Chief Operating Officer of Bon Secours Charity Health System, played a key role in coordinating the hospital’s partnership with Hatzoloh. “We are truly proud of this cohort and excited to support their ER rotations. It’s an incredible step forward and a meaningful accomplishment for these women once they complete their training,” said Yezzo.

Key figures from New Square Hatzoloh, including Sam Hauptman EMS Coordinator, David Breuer and Aron (Moshe) Kaff, have been instrumental in organizing and coordinating the expanded training program. In a message to the Good Samaritan team, Hatzoloh expressed appreciation: “Thank you so much for your warm welcome and for your willingness to work with us on this ER clinical training.”

The partnership was made possible through the efforts of community activist and Rockland County businessman Meyer Tauber, whose longstanding relationship with Good Samaritan Hospital helped strengthen the collaboration. Tauber told Monsey Scoop that he encouraged Good Samaritan Hospital to pursue this partnership and praised Marie Yezzo for her dedication and involvement. “Marie truly made this happen and worked quickly to ensure everything came together smoothly,” Tauber said, expressing his gratitude to both Yezzo and the hospital’s leadership for their continued partnership and support of the community.
