Good Samaritan Hospital hosted its 7th Annual Public Menorah Lighting on Thursday afternoon, bringing together hospital leadership, elected officials, and community leaders for a meaningful Chanukah celebration centered on unity, faith, and hope.
The ceremony was hosted at Good Samaritan Hospital and sponsored and coordinated by Metrex Realty Group. The event’s main sponsor, Metrex Realty Group, is owned by Rockland County businessman and community activist Meyer Tauber, whose ongoing support of community initiatives was highlighted during the program.
The menorah was lit by Dr. Michael L. Schwartz, MD, RVT, FACS, Chief of Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Among those in attendance were Dr. Andrew Pickens, Executive Director and Chief Medical Officer – Western Region of WMCHealth, Marie Yezzo, Chief Operating Officer – Western Region of WMCHealth, Wilfredo Yap, Regional Vice President of Nursing – Western Region of WMCHealth, Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, Senator Bill Weber, Rafi Silberberg, senior advisor to Congressman Mike Lawler, Rockland County Executive Ed Day, Rockland County Legislator Joel Friedman, Rockland County Legislator Beth Davidson, Rockland County Clerk Donna Silberman, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh, New Square Mayor Izzy Spitzer, Village of Kaser Mayor Elia Pinkasowitz, Montebello Deputy Mayor Stacy Garrido, Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach, Rabbi Joel Fried, and New Square Public Safety Director Moshe Kaff, among many other elected officials, community leaders, and guests.
Attendees also included representatives from Rockland Hatzoloh, KJ Hatzolah EMS, Faist EMS, and the Monsey Fire Department, along with many other emergency service organizations and community groups.
The annual event was organized in partnership with WMCHealth, Good Samaritan Hospital, and the Chabad Jewish Center of Suffern, and was held at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.
