Golden Taste hosted a gathering Tuesday morning at its new facility located at 585 Chestnut Ridge Road, welcoming Assemblyman Aron Wieder, Senator Bill Weber, and Rafi Silberberg, Senior Advisor to Congressman Mike Lawler. The visit marked the resolution of a critical permit issue that had delayed final utility work at the site.
Golden Taste recently completed building their new facility but was unable to get a permit for water service. The issue stemmed from recent State DOT regulation changes, which have complicated Veolia’s requests to dig on state roads, causing delays for customers.
Through proactive coordination and meetings with the State DOT and Veolia, the collective efforts of local officials secured a temporary solution, allowing Veolia to proceed and get the business online. With the water hookup now complete, Golden Taste is cleared to begin using the facility and is currently awaiting a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO), with hopes of officially opening after the Yomim Tovim.
Assemblyman Aron Wieder told Monsey Scoop, “My heartfelt thanks to my dedicated staff for their swift resolution of a permitting issue for Golden Taste at 585 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Chestnut Ridge. Recent State DOT regulation changes have complicated Veolia’s requests to dig on state roads, causing delays for customers. Through proactive coordination and meetings with State DOT and Veolia, Wieder’s team secured a temporary solution, allowing Veolia to proceed and get the business online. Assembly Member Wieder is thrilled for the Golden Taste family, who can now begin using their facility in the district, and remains committed to assisting constituents with any issue, big or small, to deliver timely solutions.”
Senator Bill Weber said, “I am proud to congratulate the Perlmutter family and Golden Taste on their outstanding business growth. They are a true benefit to Rockland County taxpayers and consumers. My office was pleased to assist Golden Taste in navigating regulatory matters with state agencies and utility providers, helping ensure today’s milestone became a reality.”
Congressman Mike Lawler told Monsey Scoop, “I’m glad to have worked with our state legislators to reach a resolution that solves the ongoing issue between state DOT and utility companies to help get Golden Taste’s new facility up and running. I look forward to being able to reach a long-term solution to ease the current process.”
