Free Fare Continues on TOR and TRIPS Buses as New Year’s Transit Schedules Announced

In a welcome announcement for commuters, fare collection on the TOR and TRIPS bus services continues to be waived, allowing passengers to enjoy free bus rides. As the new year approaches, the Rockland County Department of Public Transportation (TOR) has also released its holiday transit schedules for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

New Year’s Eve Schedule – Sunday, December 31st

On New Year’s Eve, which falls on Sunday, December 31st, TOR will operate a modified schedule to accommodate holiday festivities. Here’s what you need to know:

– TOR routes 59, 91, 92, 93, and Loop 3 will run on a Sunday service schedule.
– TOR routes 94, 95, and 97 will not be in operation on this day.
– TOR Loop 1 and Loop 2 will maintain their regular service hours.
– TRIPS buses will provide ADA service exclusively.

Please note that the Rockland County Department of Public Transportation office in Pomona will be closed on New Year’s Eve, December 31st.

New Year’s Day Schedule – Monday, January 1st

On New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1st, TOR will again run a modified schedule:

– TOR routes 59, 91, 92, 93, and Loop 3 will operate on a Sunday service schedule.
– TOR routes 94, 95, and 97 will not be in service on this day.
– Loop 1 and Loop 2 will follow their regular service hours.
– TRIPS buses will provide ADA service only.

As a reminder, the Rockland County Department of Public Transportation office in Pomona will remain closed on New Year’s Day, January 1st, 2024.
