This week, former State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick continued his outreach to local institutions, visiting Imrei Shefer Cheder, where he toured the facilities and engaged with both staff and students.
During the visit, the cheder’s administrator had the opportunity to sit down with Reichlin-Melnick to discuss important topics, including education policies and funding structures. They explored potential ways Albany could provide additional support for local schools. The administrator also shared plans for a much-needed expansion, including the construction of an additional floor to address the school’s space limitations.
Reichlin-Melnick also visited classrooms, interacting with students in a warm and engaging manner. At one point, he asked the children what law they would enact if given the chance. One young student’s heartwarming response was that he would pass a law to secure a new building for Imrei Shefer.
Reichlin-Melnick reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for fair representation and support for the educational needs of local schools and families, promising to continue working on behalf of the community.
