Former Monsey Fire Chief Andrew Schlissel Appointed Rockland County Deputy Fire Coordinator (44-13)

Former Monsey Fire Department Chief Andrew Schlissel has been appointed by the Rockland County Legislature as a Deputy Fire Coordinator, officially designated as 44-13. While he will primarily serve the Town of Ramapo, Schlissel is authorized to respond to incidents across all of Rockland County to assist with command operations as needed.

A two-time past Chief of the Monsey Fire Department, Schlissel retired from the active line in May after reaching an impressive milestone—40 years of dedicated, active service with the department. Though off the line, he remains an active member of the Monsey FD and continues to serve the fire service community with distinction.

“Andy is widely respected and will represent the Deputy Coordinators with poise, confidence, and professionalism,” said Rockland County Director and Fire Coordinator Christopher Kear. “His continued service to Rockland County is deeply appreciated.”
