According to the National Weather Service, Rockland County is under a Flood Watch, with the county included in a moderate risk area for excessive rainfall. Forecast models indicate Rockland County could receive around 4 inches of rain, with localized higher amounts possible, raising the threat of scattered to numerous flash flooding incidents.
Officials warn that flooding could develop rapidly, particularly in low-lying, poor drainage, and urban areas. Motorists are reminded never to drive through flooded roadways, as just a few inches of moving water can sweep a vehicle away.
