At approximately 1:55 p.m. on Monday afternoon, local fire departments, including Theills FD, were dispatched to a fire reported inside an elevated storage container. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered an active blaze within the container and promptly initiated their response.
The first engine on the scene deployed a pre-connected hose line and successfully contained the fire within minutes. Stony Point Fire Department arrived with their engine to provide water supply to the primary unit. Additional support came from crews operating units Theills FD, who flushed a nearby hydrant across the street in preparation for establishing a sustained water supply.
West Haverstraw Fire Department’s FASTeam also responded to assist at the scene, while Haverstraw Fire Department was called in with their ladder truck to provide additional ground ladders.
The fire was brought under control, with operations concluding after approximately an hour and a half. Fire officials extend their gratitude to all mutual aid departments and EMS teams that responded swiftly and efficiently to assist in the incident.
