The Finkelstein Memorial Library, along with the Ramapo Catskill Library System, is set to upgrade its system to enhance services for patrons. This significant update will result in a temporary disruption of certain services from Thursday, August 1, to Sunday, August 4.
During this period, online library account services—including searching for materials, placing holds, paying bills, and checking accounts—will be unavailable. However, digital services such as Libby and Hoopla will remain accessible.
Many libraries within the Ramapo Catskill Library System will either be closed or offer limited services during these days. Specifically, Finkelstein Library will have limited services from 3 PM to 9 PM on August 1, with a restriction of five items at checkout, and will not issue new library cards or process new holds. The library will be completely closed from August 2 to August 4. Additionally, book drops will be closed starting August 1 and will reopen on August 5.
Finkelstein Library apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the community’s patience during the transition. As a gesture of gratitude, fines will be waived from August 5 to August 10.
