Fatal House Fire Claims Life of Elderly Resident in Central Nyack Home

On Saturday, December 30, 2023, a fatal house fire erupted at 49 Laurel Rd. around 4:50 pm, prompting an immediate response from the Emergency Personnel including Firefighters and Clarkstown Police Department.

The intense blaze consumed a single-family home, with firefighters bravely conducting a search that led to the discovery of an unconscious 74-year-old male resident on the upper floor. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Clarkstown PD – Detective Bureau, who urge anyone with information to call (845) 639-5840.
