Fatal Crash on Palisades Interstate Parkway Early Friday Morning Near NJ-NY State Line

A tragic crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway early Friday morning left one person dead and several others injured, authorities confirmed.

The collision occurred just before 6 a.m. on Friday Feb. 28 in the southbound lanes near the New York State border, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

“One of the occupants of an involved vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Musella stated. “Several other occupants were transported to an area hospital with varying degrees of serious injuries.”

Authorities have not yet released further details on the victims or the cause of the crash. Detours remained in place all Friday as investigators from Musella’s Fatal Accident Investigations Unit and the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision.
