Ramos successfully completed more than 1,000 hours of classroom instruction and supervised, live on-the-job training as part of the division’s nationally accredited communications program. During the course of his training, he also passed four national certification exams, qualifying him to serve in the county’s emergency communications center.
A graduate of Tappan Zee High School in Orangeburg, Ramos earned an Associate’s Degree from Rockland Community College before completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at SUNY Cortland. Officials praised his dedication and preparation as he begins his role supporting emergency responders and residents across Rockland County.
