Evergreen Kosher Supermarket Hosts Special Appreciation Dinner for Local Law Enforcement

In a heartwarming display of gratitude and community spirit, Evergreen Kosher Supermarket hosted an appreciation dinner on Tuesday evening to honor local law enforcement. The event, which took place at Fireside Kosher restaurant in Town Square Mall, Route 59, Monsey, was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Congressman Mike Lawler, various local government officials, community leaders, and members of the Ramapo Police, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, and Ramapo PBA.

Yossi Brachfeld, CEO of Evergreen, emphasized the evening’s focus on law enforcement’s dedication and service. “Tonight is all about acknowledging the sacrifice, commitment, and contributions of these fine men and women,” Brachfeld stated, amidst the acknowledgments of various attendees.

Brachfeld highlighted the unique challenges faced by police departments nationwide, praising the exceptional relationship between the Ramapo community and local law enforcement. He pointed to the supportive environment in Ramapo as a model of harmony and mutual respect.

The evening also acknowledged the difficult times faced by the Jewish community globally and the importance of allyship in these challenging periods. Brachfeld underlined the security and support the local Jewish community feels, thanks to the unwavering dedication of law enforcement.

The CEO further detailed the collaborative efforts between community organizations like Hatzoloh of Rockland and Chaverim Of Rockland with local police, particularly the Ramapo Police Department. “Our close-knit family has together saved countless lives,” he noted.

Brachfeld also took the opportunity to showcase Evergreen’s role in representing the diverse cultures within Rockland County, from its downtown location to the new uptown store on Route 202.

Drawing on the Jewish tradition of gratitude, Brachfeld connected the event to the upcoming Thanksgiving week, emphasizing the community’s appreciation for local law enforcement.

A highlight of the evening was when Ramapo Police PBA President Officer Julianne Franklin awarded Evergreen Executive Malky Levine with an award. Officer Franklin expressed deep gratitude for Evergreen’s support, stating, “We are always truly grateful for all that you do. Thank you for always standing alongside us and for being an integral part of our community. And a special thanks to Malky for putting this lovely dinner together.” She presented the award on behalf of the Ramapo PBA in appreciation for Evergreen’s continued support of the men and women in the force.

Chief Martin Reilly of the Ramapo Police responded with gratitude, acknowledging the unique support and warmth they feel from the community. “It’s truly amazing,” he remarked, “Not every police agency feels the warmth and support that we do, and we deeply appreciate it.”

The dinner not only served as a gesture of thanks but also as a symbol of the strong bonds between Evergreen, local law enforcement, and the wider community of Monsey.
